Why it matters
The main change is the fund’s 80% policy. As of October 15, 2026, 90% of net assets plus borrowings for investment purposes already consisted of energy infrastructure investments. That is 10 percentage points above the new minimum. The filing suggests the board is matching the mandate to a portfolio that already fits it.
The fund will no longer have to keep at least 80% of net assets plus borrowings in midstream energy investments. Instead, it will seek that 80% level in energy infrastructure investments. It will also continue to invest no more than 25% of total assets in energy master limited partnerships that qualify as publicly traded partnerships under the Internal Revenue Code. The fund will stay non-diversified.
The investment objective stays a high after-tax total return from capital appreciation and current income. The filing says no other investment policy changes are being made.
The filing defines energy infrastructure investments broadly. The list includes midstream and fuel infrastructure, power and utility infrastructure, distributed power and storage, and the engineering, construction, installation, operation, maintenance and leasing tied to those assets. That gives the fund more room than the old midstream-only policy.

What's next
On December 18, 2026, the new name and policy take effect. No shareholder action is required before then. If the fund stays near the current 90% energy infrastructure mix after that date, the change will look mostly like a formal rename. A larger shift would show the new policy reaching into the portfolio.
